JOB SUMMARY:
The Customer Loyalty Analyst supports the growth, optimization, and measurement of Stater Bros. Markets’ loyalty program by transforming customer, transaction, promotion, offer, and digital engagement data into actionable insights. This role analyzes data across disparate systems, including loyalty engines, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), Power BI, POS, and eCommerce platforms—to improve retention, trip frequency, basket size, offer relevance, overall program ROI, and campaign effectiveness.
The ideal candidate is a curious, detail-oriented, and business-minded analyst who can connect data across systems, identify trends, translate findings into clear recommendations, and partner cross-functionally with internal teams, leadership, and external vendor partners to support a cohesive, customer-first loyalty experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze loyalty, customer, transaction, promotion, and digital engagement data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that impact retention, trip frequency, basket size, and overall profitability
- Connect and synthesize data across disparate systems, including loyalty platforms (Eagle Eye), CDPs (Birdzi), Power BI, POS, and eCommerce channels, to evaluate program effectiveness and campaign performance
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, recurring reports, and ad hoc analyses that clearly communicate loyalty program performance, customer segments, offer effectiveness, enrollment trends, redemption activity, campaign results, and business impact
- Partner with cross-functional teams and external vendor partners, including Integrated Marketing, Digital Commerce, Merchandising, IT, Retail Operations, Customer Care, and leadership, to define reporting needs, validate data, and deliver insights that support business decisions
- Support customer segmentation, targeting test-and-learn strategies, offer optimization, and personalized marketing initiatives by analyzing past behavior, purchase patterns, category engagement, channel activity, and campaign response
- Measure pre- and post-campaign performance, including lift, redemption, engagement, traffic, basket-building impact, retention indicators, and return on investment (ROI), recommending improvements for future campaigns
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, duplicate records, integration issues, or reporting limitations to continuously improve data quality, usability, and confidence across disparate systems
- Translate complex data findings into concise, actionable insights, presentations, and strategic recommendations for key stakeholders and leadership
- Maintain confidentiality of customer, vendor, financial, and company information while supporting privacy, legal, policy, and customer experience standards
- Perform other duties and assignments as needed to support business priorities, loyalty program execution, and operational requirements
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field required; equivalent, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
- 2+ years of experience in loyalty analytics, customer insights, marketing/retail analytics, or a related analytical role; experience with grocery/retail loyalty programs strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, mathematical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify patterns, explain business drivers, and recommend practical actions
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint; experience building or maintaining dashboards in Power BI or similar business insights tools
- Familiarity with loyalty management engines and Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), such as Eagle Eye, Birdzi, or similar platforms, along with experience analyzing POS data and digital marketing analytics highly preferred
- Exposure to SQL, data modeling, data governance, data quality processes, or enterprise reporting environments a plus
- Understanding of loyalty principles, customer segmentation, A/B testing / test-and-learn methodologies, campaign lift/ROI measurement, and personalized marketing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data findings clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, recurring reporting needs, and ad hoc requests within tight timelines
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal business units, leadership, and external vendor partners at all levels
