Compensation: $35.75 – $38.00

(this pay range represents the rates of pay for step 1 to the maximum step for this position in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The starting pay for the successful candidate will start at step 1)

DEPARTMENT:

Fleet Maintenance

JOB SUMMARY:

Service and/or repair all mechanical and electronic systems on fleet tractors. Included but not limited to maintenance and/or repair of diesel engines, transmissions, and differentials. Knowledge of heavy-duty electric vehicles is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnosis, repair and maintain diesel and electric tractors

  • Perform brake jobs on equipment with drum and/or disc brakes

  • Decision making and problem solving required

  • Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs with minimal assistance.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of individuals doing business from within and outside the company

  • Must be able to work night shifts and weekends

  • Other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Must have a valid California Driver License with good driving record

  • At least four (4) years' experience in Diesel engine and power train repair

  • Must furnish basic hand tools and roll-a-way tool box

  • Must pass a physical and pre-employment drug test
