General Maintenance Laborer

COMPENSTATION:

This is a HOURLY/NON-EXEMPT position. The hourly range is: $23.83 - $28.50 This position is covered under the Teamster General Maintenance Technician Agreement. 

(This pay range represents the rates of pay for 1 step to the maximum step for this position in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The starting pay for the successful candidate will start at step 1.)

JOB SUMMARY:

To assist General Maintenance Technicians and perform maintenance and minor repairs at company facilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist shop mechanic cleaning parts, breaking down equipment and minor repairs
• Assist maintenance technician when two people are required, i.e. pulling wire, installing machinery, etc.
• Maintenance of equipment
• Pick up and deliver required materials and equipment
• Minor repairs, work and/or inspections that do not require a maintenance technician
• Installation and repair of signage
• Light emergency roof, ceiling and parking lot repairs
• Flooring repair
• Must be available 24 hours for emergencies and available for shift work
• Maintain a sense of integrity
• Participation in and completion of on-going safety training, equipment training and certifications relating to job experience
• Good communication skills
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma preferred but not required
• General knowledge of construction trades, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, and concrete
• Valid California Driver License with clear driving record
• CPR Certificate of Completion within 90 days
• Certified in Ammonia Awareness within 90 days
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test
