Risk Control Engineer

This is a SALARIED / EXEMPT position. The annual range is: $72,000 - $80,000.

JOB SUMMARY:

Develop, implement, audit, coordinate and enforce corporate safety programs for assigned regions and facilities to create a safe and legal work environment for employees, customers, and vendors.  Ensures that employees are provided with safe physical conditions and trained in sound work procedures and proper handling of hazardous materials.  Assists Stater Bros. management in matters of minimizing corporate exposure, liability, and property loss. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare correspondence and reports using Microsoft Word, Excel and Crystal
• Prepare information regarding work comp/work related injuries, customer accidents, safety inspection
• Audit all safety and risk items
• Conduct Trainings
• Communicates with All Supervisors, Stater Bros. Management, and Employees
• Maintain safety files and investigations
• Weekend and evening hours may be required
• Highly confidential material is handled routinely
• Perform all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution or Retail Management Certificate preferred
• Proficient with Personal Computer to include Microsoft Office - Word, Excel (spreadsheet skills) and Calendar functions of Microsoft Outlook
• Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communications skills
• Excellent phone etiquette with a pleasant speaking voice
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to meet strict deadlines
• Maintains a high level of professionalism, consistent with company standards in dress, personal appearance and grooming
• Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of individuals doing business from within and outside the Company
• National Environmental Health Association’s (NEHA) sponsored Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) credential or passes the exam within an eighteen (18) month time frame of hire. CPR within 12 months of securing this position. All costs and study materials will be provided by the company.
