JOB SUMMARY:

The Workplace Violence Investigator will work closely with the Manager, Workplace Violence Intervention & Prevention with developing, implementing and executing the company’s Senate Bill 553 (SB 553) Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP).

 

The Workplace Violence Investigator will lead detailed investigations into reported Workplace Violence incidents involving teammates across all areas of the company, including Retail stores, Store Support Campus and the Distribution Center. This Investigator will work with extremely sensitive, highly confidential and violent matters and must be able to maintain a high degree of integrity.

 

The Workplace Violence Investigator will also provide administrative support, including but not limited to, preparing and maintaining Workplace Violence incident logs, case documentation, compliance reviews, Threat Assessment records, legal communications and training related materials.

 

This position will also include assignments such as preparing LPMS case files, reviewing Axis CCTV footage, conducting specialized store visits, and training sessions or presentations related to Workplace Violence and Security related topics.

 

The Workplace Violence Investigator will assist the Manager, Workplace Violence Intervention & Prevention with all tasks listed to ensure successful implementation of the company’s Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP) and full company compliance with state mandated law and Cal/ OSHA regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Manager, Workplace Violence Intervention and Prevention with administrative and clerical duties related to the implementation of the SB 553 Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP) including investigations and developing policies, procedures and Security trainings

  • Lead detailed investigations into Workplace Violence incidents involving teammates, customers/ vendors, or unknown individuals occurring throughout Retail stores, Store Support Campus and Distribution Center

  • Will conduct investigations of extremely sensitive, confidential and violent matters. Must be okay with exposure to violent materials, footage and information.

  • Assist Manager, Workplace Violence Intervention & Prevention with ensuring full company compliance with all current and future state mandated, OSHA and Cal/ OSHA regulations and law

  • Proficient with or have knowledge of LPMS Reporting System and Axis camera station, preferred

  • Conduct Axis CCTV video reviews and provide critical case information to the Manager, Workplace Violence Intervention and Prevention on daily basis.

  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to conduct interviews via phone, in-person or through email communications daily

  • Responsible for maintaining all Workplace Violence incident logs, case documentation, compliance reviews, Threat Assessment records, legal communications and training materials

  • Will assist Manager, Workplace Violence Intervention & Prevention with conducting specialized store visits, training sessions and presentations related to Workplace Violence and Security related topics

  • Will conduct Post Incident and Location Threat Assessments when needed to help identify and reduce security risks, threats and workplace hazards. Does require field work, store visits and travel

  • Will assist Manager, Workplace Violence Intervention & Prevention with coordinating and planning the annual Emergency Evacuation drill on the Store Support Campus and Distribution Center

  • Schedules meetings, on-site inspections, or other events and maintains meeting calendar for Manager, Workplace Violence Intervention & Prevention

  • Serve as liaison between the Workplace Violence Department, Retail Operations, other internal departments and teammates in all matters relating to Workplace Violence incidents

  • Able to work cross functionally with a diverse group of departments, law enforcement partners and/or legal counsel.

  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Valid California Driver’s License with good driving record

  • Experience with LPMS Incident Reporting System preferred

  • Experience with operating AXIS CCTV Program preferred, not required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams

  • Required to work with sensitive, confidential and violent materials related to violence incidents

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with changing schedules and tasks

  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality required

  • High degree of problem solving and decision-making recurring daily

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills that demonstrate ability to effectively convey investigative information to all levels of the organization

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse individuals from all levels of the organization

  • Represent the company professionally through phone etiquette, company dress code, and personal appearance

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Human Resources or related discipline, preferred.

  • Retail operations, management, investigative or training experience is a plus

  • CPR/ First Aid/ AED Certification is a plus, not required
